Over the course of his training and career he has worked in a range of clinical settings, including community and hospital-based mental health services in the public and private sector in Sydney, as well as nearly a decade of clinical experience in private practice. John provides assessment and treatment for a range of issues including (but not exclusively) mood, anxiety, and adjustment disorders, interpersonal difficulties, grief and loss, stress management, and existential concerns. Currently, in addition to private practice, John works at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the Psycho-Oncology Service.
John is warm and dedicated, committed to working collaboratively with people to help them understand and overcome their current challenges. It is important to him that therapy is individualised to best support each person's needs. He draws upon a range of therapies including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Existential Psychotherapy. All of these approaches have been shown to have something profound to offer when applied in the right context on a foundation of trust and compassion.
